Patrol Division Recognition Awards
Our PATROL DIVISION is one of our key program elements that tasks and coordinates most of our volunteers time and effort. All Patrollers devote and commit a considerable amount of time, energy, focus, and dedication to Castro Community On Patrol and to our Patrolling and Educational Outreach efforts. In recognition of this considerable devotion and sacrifice, we present milestone achievement commendations and honors within the Venerable Castro Order as a small token of thanks to those incredible volunteers.
We will describe the various awards and recognitions below.

KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE VENERABLE CASTRO ORDER (KCCO)
Awarded to Patrollers who demonstrate consistent and invaluable leadership and support of the Patrol in multiple aspects of operations and activities.
Induction as a Knight Commander of the Castro Order is by unanimous vote of the existing Knight Commanders.
Inductee is awarded the KCCO medal (left top) and KCCO commendation bar (left bottom.)
COMMANDER OF THE VENERABLE CASTRO ORDER (CCO)
Awarded to Patrollers who achieve the rank of Deputy Chief.
Induction as a Commander of the Castro Order recognizes the considerable contributions of the individual to the Patrol, the neighborhood, and the community at large.
Inductee is awarded the CCO medal (left top) and CCO commendation bar (left bottom.)
KNIGHT OF THE VENERABLE CASTRO ORDER (KCO)
Awarded to Patrollers who achieve the rank of Assistant Deputy Chief.
Induction as a Knight of the Castro Order recognizes the considerable contributions of the individual to the Patrol, the neighborhood, and the community at large.

MEDAL OF HONOR / MEDAL OF VALOR
Awarded to Patrollers by majority vote of the Chiefs of Patrol for exemplary or indefatigable acts, conduct, or service beyond those expected or anticipated of normal Patrollers.
Inductee is awarded the MOH/V medal (left top) and MOH/V commendation bar (left bottom.)
LIFESAVING COMMENDATION
Awarded to Patrollers who respond to a medical emergency incident and whose direct actions prevent loss of life. The Roman numeral indicates the number of “saves” undertaken.
OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER COMMENDATION (OVC) BAR
Awarded to Patrollers who accomplish 100 total Patrol credits.
OUTSTADNING SERVICE COMMENDATION (OSC) BAR
Awarded to Patrollers who have provided 5 years of continuous unbroken service to CCOP.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC COMMENDATION BAR
Awarded to Patrollers who deployed during the 2020-2021 COVID-19 Global Pandemic despite the risks to their own health and well-being.
INSTRUCTOR COMMENDATION BAR
Awarded to Patrollers who have qualified to lead official CCOP training classes.
COMMUNITY SENTINEL GUARDIAN (CSG) PIN
Awarded to the Senior Patroller or Patroller who accumulates the most Patrol Credits in the given year.
COMMUNITY SENTINEL (CS) PIN
Awarded to Senior Patrollers or Patrollers who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the community beyond their work with CCOP.
COMMUNITY GUARDIAN (CG) PIN
Awarded to Senior Patrollers or Patrollers who demonstrate exemplary commitment to regular Patrolling duties and / or special event support.
FIRST RESPONDER MEDICAL TRAINING PIN
Worn by individuals who have completed a course in First Responder medical first aid and triage concepts. Wearing this pin indicates the Patroller will provide first aid and assistance.
BASIC FIRST AID / CPR / AED TRAINING PIN
Worn by individuals who have completed a course in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED. Wearing this pin indicates the Patroller will provide first aid and assistance.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY PIN
Patrollers with language proficiency other than English may wear a pin to indicate the language/s they are proficient in.
