CCOP was very happy to provide a small patrol team, working with volunteers, and in collaboration with the San Francisco Park Rangers and the San Francisco Police Department at Mission Station to offer safety coverage for the long awaited and much anticipated return of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence “Easter in the Park” event on Sunday March 17, 2022.
While SFPD does not try to count attendee numbers at such events, with warm sunny weather and the beautiful Dolores Park to enjoy, let’s just say the Lower Meadow of the park was “filled to capacity” with very happy and joyful people, all enjoying the entertainment for the day. We love supporting this event on behalf of the Sisters, as it is always a very relaxed, joyful event with everyone just out to relax, catch up with friends, meet some new best friends, and enjoy the unique experience that is Easter in the Park with the Sisters. This year was the first return of the event following the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, and it helps mark a much desired return to some normality.
We want to express our thanks to the San Francisco Park Rangers, the San Francisco Police Department Mission Station, and the safety volunteers from the Sisters who collaborated with us during to day to help keep everyone safe, return one or two “misplaced children” to their parents, and a few lost personal items to their rightful owners.
