On Saturday May 03 we will hold our 40th Patrol Volunteer Basic Training Class from 1pm to 4:30pm in the heart of the Castro.
I can’t believe we’ve held forty training classes since we first formed in late 2006, but this one is certainly a milestone to celebrate, and we’d love nothing more than to have you in that class to train and certify and help us mark.
Our ties to the community at large, and San Francisco law enforcement, are stronger than ever, and to this point we’ve already supported the following special events:
01/11/2014 – SF Front Runners Presentation
02/24/2014 – City Wide Community Police Advisory Board (CPAB) Summit
03/18/2014 – Free Community Self-Defense Seminar at MAGNET
03/29/2014 – Castro LIONS Club Crab Feed Fundraiser
As the year progresses, we have a number of requests to support other important community events as well as patrolling the neighborhood on a regular basis. We could certainly use your help in fulfilling all of the community and regular patrolling commitments we try to accomplish on behalf of the neighborhood.
Come join us for the 40th training class and help us celebrate what we’ve all accomplished over the last seven years of service to the community. We have distributed more than 50k free safety whistles, donated more than 6k hours of patrol time to the community and supported more than 600 community events and meetings over that time. With your help, we can do much more over the next seven years.
To sign up for CCOP Volunteer Training Class #40, simply go to our web site (www.CastroPatrol.org) and click the [Sign Up Now] button on the top right. All we ask of you once you are trained, is that you volunteer for one 3 hour patrol a month.
Please feel free to forward this to anyone, and everyone, else you think may be interested in volunteering with us. We love to make new friends.
