National Give OUT Day is a rather simple, yet brilliant, idea to declare one day a year when members of the LGBT community and their supporters can focus on giving a little back to those organizations that work to make everyone’s lives just a little better. We’d like to humbly suggest that you consider us, Castro Community On Patrol, for a donation on National Give OUT Day which is Thursday May 9, 2013.
CCOP, like many other organizations, does a tremendous amount of good with a tiny amount of funding an enormous amount of volunteer time and commitment. Donations help us a great deal in procuring the safety whistles that we hand out for free, and in printing up the safety materials that go along with the whistles. Each whistle and flyer costs us about $1, and to date we’ve handed out over 70,000 of them. Every dollar in donations we receive allows us to procure and distribute more.
